CNBC’s lies and deceit over COVID-19 Vaccination efficacy

The disgrace of journalism could not be more evident in these two vaccination efficacy articles from CNBC.

We are baffled at the lies and deceit from mainstream media, bluntly believing that the masses are that gullible. In these 2 articles we have a 90.7% dropped to 12%. Now there can be only one reason behind this incredible “miscalculation,” and this is the ineptitude of governments and health officials that obviously cannot do math or add together the numbers that over two years of pandemic has given them.

Or is there a more simple hypothesis?

My take is a simplistic vision of mainstream media hypocrisy and poor attempt of manipulation; working only on the very few close-minded individuals that cannot add 2+2 themselves and are way too wired in the system, and believe every ounce of nonsense that spews out of the puppets in front of a camera.

On your left you can see Meg Tirrell, CNBC’s senior health and science reporter blindly repeating what is on the screen, and adding nothing of her own, not even asking the question if this “whooping 90.7%” is real or not? This is an outstanding example of “true journalism.”

We recommend going on the CDC’s website and informing yourselves and leaving CNBC behind. Today we have all the public information under our fingertips and we take away the monopoly of power from journalists that are nothing more than a puppet on a string uttering what higher powers impose.

In a document released on CDC “Effectiveness of mRNA Vaccination in Preventing COVID-19–Associated Invasive Mechanical Ventilation and Death — United States, March 2021–January 2022” there are some alarming information that all of us should read and analyze to better understand what is truly going on.

COVID-19 mRNA vaccines (BNT162b2 [Pfizer-BioNTech] and mRNA-1273 [Moderna]) are effective at preventing COVID-19–associated hospitalization (1–3).

However, how well mRNA vaccines protect against the most severe outcomes of these hospitalizations, including invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) or death is uncertain. Using a case-control design, mRNA vaccine effectiveness (VE) against COVID-19–associated IMV and in-hospital death was evaluated among adults aged ≥18 years hospitalized at 21 U.S. medical centers during March 11, 2021–January 24, 2022. During this period, the most commonly circulating variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, were B.1.1.7 (Alpha), B.1.617.2 (Delta), and B.1.1.529 (Omicron).

Previous vaccination (2 or 3 versus 0 vaccine doses before illness onset) in prospectively enrolled COVID-19 case-patients who received IMV or died within 28 days of hospitalization was compared with that among hospitalized control patients without COVID-19. Among 1,440 COVID-19 case-patients who received IMV or died, 307 (21%) had received 2 or 3 vaccine doses before illness onset.

Among 6,104 control-patients, 4,020 (66%) had received 2 or 3 vaccine doses. Among the 1,440 case-patients who received IMV or died, those who were vaccinated were older (median age = 69 years), more likely to be immunocompromised* (40%), and had more chronic medical conditions compared with unvaccinated case-patients (median age = 55 years; immunocompromised = 10%; p<0.001 for both). VE against IMV or in-hospital death was 90% (95% CI = 88%–91%) overall, including 88% (95% CI = 86%–90%) for 2 doses and 94% (95% CI = 91%–96%) for 3 doses, and 94% (95% CI = 88%–97%) for 3 doses during the Omicron-predominant period.

COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are highly effective in preventing COVID-19–associated death and respiratory failure treated with IMV. CDC recommends that all persons eligible for vaccination get vaccinated and stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination (4).

Pfizer and BioNTech’s two-dose Covid vaccine provided very little protection for children aged 5 to 11 during the wave of omicron infection in New York, according to a study published Monday.

The New York State Department of Health found that the effectiveness of Pfizer’s vaccine against Covid infection plummeted from 68% to 12% for kids in that age group during the omicron surge from Dec. 13 through Jan 24. Protection against hospitalization dropped from 100% to 48% during the same period.

The study has not yet undergone peer review, the academic gold standard. Due to the public health urgency of the pandemic, scientists have been publishing the results of their studies before such review.

The team of public health officials who conducted the study said the dramatic drop in vaccine effectiveness among children 5 to 11 years old was likely due to the lower dosage they received. Kids in this age group are given two 10-microgram shots, while children aged 12 to 17 receive 30-microgram shots.
